Evidence based and research proven, Kindermusik develops the whole child in a fun, natural, engaging and musical way!
For over 40 years, Kindermusik has been the world’s most trusted name in music and movement classes for children newborn to seven. Kindermusik curricula are based upon the principles of early development applied to developmentally appropriate practice as defined by the NAEYC.
The Kindermusik philosophy springs from genuine respect for each child’s individual rate of development. Class activities and at-home materials are designed to honor, support and celebrate the wonderful uniqueness of each child.
Every aspect of the program is grounded in these core beliefs: every child is musical, every parent is the child’s most important teacher, and the home is the most important place for learning to take root and grow.

What is the best time to start my child in music lessons?
“We’re so glad you think music lessons are important for your child! At this stage in life, their hand size and coordination is not developed enough for an instrument. Even Mozart and Beethoven didn’t start piano lessons until they were four! We recommend preparing your child for formal lessons through our Kindermusik classes. Our students experience pitch, rhythm, steady beat, tempo, dynamics, instrument exploration, ensemble playing and more. Your Kindermusik@Home materials will extend the learning at home. When your child is ready for lessons, they will be well-equipped to learn and grow.” Karen Onkka Schanerberger, Kindermusik International consultant
By providing hands-on, developmentally appropriate music and movement activities until age 6 or 7, we prepare the way for successful private music study. By first internalizing musical principles in their bodies (hi/low, up/down, fast/slow, steady beat) through large muscle groups, fine motor work with simple instruments, a child’s musical aptitude is increased.
